Updates from the Mickels and Kham Siri

29 March 2009

Good day at Kham Siri yesterday. Ban San Rak came again (friends from the church children's home who are helping with running it). After the message we split in 4 groups and many of our kids came to Jesus. Naen, Om , Fa, Doen and 2 more. It’s great to have Kham Siri & Ban San Rak going together.

Evening party. Disappointing a little bit. Tina prepared so much food. And after eating they all disappeared. Very difficult to reach the adults. But Sin (a local thai Christian worship leader) wants to meet them.

He also wants to come in with his youth group on Sundays to play games and to do crafts.

I think we could and should start a youth worship service now on a Sunday afternoon with Sin as well.

I think the new phase for us here at Kham Siri is to slowly hand it all over to Thais. It seems to slowly happen now.

3 April 2009

Went to Taa Pae (a central square in Chiang Mai where alot of nightlife happens)2 nights ago and met Bong who has polio and is homeless. He didn’t even have shoes. He came to Chiang Mai 4 days ago on his own, not knowing anybody.

When he was born his parents rejected him. I told him I know someone who will never reject you. His name is Jesus. I checked with Ricky Tan (http://www.carecornerorphanage.com/) and took him yesterday to to Care Corner Orphanage. Ricky wants 2000 Baht a month for sleeping, room and food. Now he is staying there and seems to be very exited.
